A Song a day: 22nd Nov 2013 (爛泥

The song that I chose for today is “爛泥” by Andy Hui. I remember I used to play this song so many time a day as I never seems to have enough of it. The direct English translation of the title is “Rotten mud”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. At the beginning, the protagonist said that this girl is like the most beautiful rose. It lives forever and impossible to go rotten instantly. He would stay for her and lay down under her, and let the petal cover this dirty mud. He will lay down for her, such that she could stand up. He will form dust and stay rotten until he dies, so that all the nutrition could be pass to her. He wishes he could become the mud below her. He will protect her without thinking that he is dirty. So please don’t look down at him even though he is just rotten mud as he will spend all his nutrition to support her. He will wait for her without notice. He will look up at her but wouldn’t touch her. HE will let his tears runs so that she wouldn’t be thirsty. He can even give out his blood. All he wish for is to become the mud below her and protect her. He will spend all his effort to support her. He wishes that in his next life he could still be the rotten mud that supports this flower. In order to protect her, he is willing to be dirty. So please don’t let him go even though he is just rotten mud. He is happy to stay with you even if you are stepping on him. Hope you will like the song.
