The song that I chose for today is “無痛失戀” by Jade Kwan. The direct English translation of the title is “Painless breakup”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that in a celebration, she was the focus. All her friends show up. She accepted all of their happiness. All the candles were lit and she closed her eyes to make a wish. But too bad she got too much wishes but too little luck. She said no one thinks that she would be a high achiever. Perhaps it was already determined by her blood group and star sign. All she wanted is to have a happy journey and she doesn’t care when she will stop. As she has been crazy about life and has experienced it, she is happy with the result. So killing pain is to practise for no pain. She cried so much that she can’t breathe, but she thinks that it shouldn’t be like this. All she wanted is to be happy and not be sad, just like how they sing together in Karaoke. So losing is to practise forgetting and look for new opportunities. So she makes a wish in front of the candles and freezes her painful memories. The song that I chose for today is “朋友” by Alan Tam. This is one of Alan’s classic. The direct English translation of the title is “Friends”.

The lyrics of the song are about friendship. It said stars are moving and the protagonist and his friend are on the same road. From not knowing each other to starting to know each other, we let others to see our true heart. Life is like a dream and friends are like mist. It is hard for someone to still stick with you after many storms, and you are still will to stand by me. There is still a long road up a head. The song that I chose for today is “自作多情” by Vivian Chow. This is one of Vivian’s classic. The direct English translation of the title is “Unrequired love”

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that please stop providing these unrequired love and stop dreaming. There is no need to please her. There is no need to keep asking her how’s her relationship with her boyfriend. They are following so closely like strong wind. Because she got no mood to dream, so she wouldn’t give extra love to these people. So there is no need to stare at her outside her window, lost control of themselves and stand there overnight like a stupid clock. Go and find the one that you love and stop being disappointed by her. The song for today is “凡星” by Lillian Wong. Lillian is a new singer, and this is one of the songs in her latest album. The direct English translation of the title is “Ordinary star”.

The lyrics of the song are about life. The protagonist said that when she looks up to the sky, she saw a star fly across. She closed her eyes and prays. She wonders who would pray to the stars and whether her wish would come true. But she knows that she can’t rely on luck. When she faced problem in the past, she sneak away to a place where she could be alone. That way she doesn’t need to explain. Every time after she cry, she wipe her eyes and believe that one day she will find her own place. A plan flies across the sky and bravely finds its direction. When it faces problem, there is no need to worry. She was once worry that the wind and rain would block her view, making her can’t see through the future. Her legs didn’t step back and but rather step forward. If she faces problems again, she will overcome it as she must move on. Every time after she cry, she will look up to the sky again. The song that I chose for today is “感情的分禮” by Vivian Chow. I have completely forgotten about this song until I hear it on the radio again yesterday. From memory it was a popular song. The direct English translation of the title is “Love’s separation ceremony”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist told her boyfriend that he doesn’t need to say anything as his explanation is just the usual. Even if she believes that he was tricked, she still can’t face his hypocrisy. If they truly love each other, then he would betray her so many times. Even if she still in love with him, she need to end this relationship. If he loves the other girl, that’s fine, but the protagonist wish that he would end their relationship before he start a new one. She asked him to stop lying about being with her for the rest of her life as this will make her sad. In the cold autumn, she stared at the sky. She would let silence to eat her up. Love is beautiful and treasurable, but it seems that he loves fake relationship. Let’s block the road to love and let the tears wash it out. Let the her from tomorrow to wipe out this scare. The song that I chose for today is “折磨” by Grace Yip. This is a very old song as Grace Yip have been retired many years ago (she married to Eric Kwok, one of the two members of Swing, also a well know song writer). The direct English translation of the title is “Torment”.

The lyrics of the song are about sleeping. The protagonist said that many stars twinkle, and she have counted sheep, but why that doesn’t make her feel better. She had analysed her situation and already thought it through. It seems that they just want her to go through this torment. Turn off the light, looking forward to its sign and hopping that a quiet night will arrive. She only think about pointless things and hope that they will not happened again. The people knows about this doesn’t make fun of the nice people, and she is not scare about the mean people. But still she is not as good as him, haven’t been able to make herself available. She had watched too many entertainment news and still haven’t been able to fall to sleep. From the space perspective, she laughs and thinks that there is always something that is hard to face. So she must overcome it. She lament, as many stars have twinkled and counted many sheep, but why she doesn’t feel any better. Many sheep have pasted and now she is alone. She lament, as she had analysed and thought it through, all they want is to have her go through the torment. Oh, so is she the ignorance sheep? Hope you will like the song.

The song for today is “只要和你在一起” by Shiga Lin. This is a rather new song, only got out around a month or so. The official English title of the song is “Gotta be with you”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that In a busy and noisy night in the city, she stopped and looked back from a quiet corner and realised that everyone is in a rush. She wished that she could hold his hand and not let go. She feels that loving him will light up her life. She just wanted to kiss, and ignore other peoples that stare at her in this dangerous city. All the people speaking behind her back have brought her lot of troubles that she can’t speak out. She window shopped at the wedding shops in the city and wanted to stare at all those wedding photos. Why love is worth to tide two people together. If they are attached by earth and sky, they will resist together, withstanding rain and eventually sunny sky will return. There will be many troubles on the way and we might bump into the future. Just close her eyes and breathe then follow him to fall into the sea. They should not be apart even in disaster, but there are many unexpected things in life. If they can’t climb over the cliff, then how could they love? Regardless of how others see them, they will still go forward. She decided that she will be with him for the rest of her life. If the world couldn’t accept them, then don’t give up; whether they go forward or backward, they will not destroy love. If they don’t have names, then they would not need to report to anyone. They have been bombarded and been forced into alley. If you got too many friends, then their questions might get you crazy. The song that I chose for today is “青春頌” by Alfred Hui. This was a song from 2012. I have listened to it many times, but only until recently I pay attention to the lyrics and I found the song very toughing. The direct English translation of the title is “Youth song”.

The lyrics of the song are about life. It said if you are passionate then let yourself do whatever you wanted to do. When you feel weak, please don’t blame your fate. If you are not smart, then you should work hard. When you still haven’t taken on your responsibilities, remember to have fun. Everyone will turn old, and when they do they realised how good youth was. You should wait until you get old to think about how good youth was. So while you haven’t got anything to complain, please realise about your life. Your youth time is a treasure, so please use it while you can. Remember to share every night with the most beautiful person. Please don’t forget that you relay on your strength to heal every wounds. If you got the strength to stand up, then just go against the norms. Don’t worry about rain wetting your eyes. There is no need to listen to others as everyone will have a different opinion. The song that I chose for today is “依然” by Sandy Lam. This is one of Sandy’s classic. The direct English translation of the title is “Still”. This song is the Chinese cover version of “I Still Believe” by Brenda K Starr.

The lyrics of the song are about love. At the start the protagonist described that the wind is blowing and it created lots of waves. These waves hit her interest. This night he suddenly appeared and gazed at the sea with her. He asked her how are you, whether everything is ok and whether she has found her true love. But she wonders whether he knows that she is still waiting. She wonder whether he knows that his voice is still making her heart beats. They were once together after mid-night. They have been through a lot, experienced a lot, happy and bitter. The sea water washed off their foot print, but they still love each other. She still believes that it would be better for them in the future; they will continue their love fire. She still believe hat in the future he will understand what she is waiting for. If his hear still hold a bit of their fire, then she will use all her strength to catch the fire. Even if she will spend her whole life and all her time, she will not asked; she just wish that he will know who is truthful. If he can still feel what she feel, then she hope that they can go back to their past. If he still needs what she needs, then she hopes that they can stay here together. The song that I chose for today is “奇洛李為斯回信” by Fiona Sit. The direct English translation of the title is “Keanu Reeves’ reply”. According to a recent post from Wyman (the lyrics writer of the song), the lyrics was based on a story of his friend (who recently passed away) who wrote letters to Madonna every day despite that all her friends were making fun of her and eventually got a reply from her.

The lyrics of the song are about a girl writing a letter to Keanu Reeves every day. It said she write a letter every day, each letter consist of 600 “I love you”. She had been writing for 10 years now and she hasn’t got sick of it. She believes that she will get a reply about whether Hollywood is beautiful or not. Mr. K, she asked, could she use 18 seconds of his life to read her letters. If he believes that everyone needs a dream, then please give her a signed envelope, she only need one. She keeps being passive to be a normal person. She found herself useless, but she is not shy. She keeps it going and tries to get him to agree with her, and that is why every year, every month, every night and every morning she sent out a letter. She knows that they are apart by a universe, but she keeps putting in her love into the envelope. Looking up to the sky and she is still confident that he will eventually wrote a letter back to her. The song for today is “Little Something” by Mag Lam. This was a theme song for a TV drama last year.

The lyrics of the song area bout love. The protagonist said loving until the end of the world. There is no need to be dramatic to express your love. She said to herself that it could be touching even if it is normal. It is hard to forget his voice, and hard to forget the street light in rain. Nothing more could ever be the same, you kissed me through the rain. And then whispered something, little something, all I wanted to say. Everything could never be the same. I kissed you on that day. I still feel the same way. My sweet nothing, you’re my everything. Something there are sad things that if it didn’t happen, it would mean nothing. Why when they turn around to see each other, it felt like they hug each other for ten years. So he is already on her side, but how could she be closer to him. The song that I chose for today is “飄浮女孩” by JW. JW made her first album in 2012. Many (including myself) found that her voice and singing style is very similar to Janice Vidal. In 2012, it was rumoured that Janice wasn’t listening to her manager and so they decided to make a new singer (JW) to ‘replace’ her. Both singers sing very well. Janice still remains as one of the upcoming super star (if she decided to work harder and get more positive exposure, I think she will become a super star). JW on the other hand, just started her career at the wrong time. She can’t quite replace Janice, yet she haven’t been managed to involve in a big project to get people to remember her. Though the exposure problems seem more as their company’s problem, as all the singers under AMusic don’t seems to get the exposure that they deserved. Anyway, the direct English translation of the title is “Floating girl”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist asked herself whether she had been lied to and whether she is scare of love. She said that she never think about getting married. Let him go, as she still got the right to smile, so there is nothing to worry about. As she no longer thinks of him, she has been asked why she still wanted to fight for him. All she wanted to say is that there is no point to believe who she supposed to be with. No matter how harsh it is, he can still say it out loud. All she wanted is to kiss a few more times. Then she would still be proud of herself. Does she still know how to love someone? As she knows that she doesn’t even have the strength to cry. At the beginning she got someone that she love deeply, and now who wishes to be heart broken. Now she understand that she is soon clear minded that she can’t pretend that nothing happened. Fallen in love with the last lover or the next lover will still be tiring. She wonder who she could fall in love with, and now she start to worry. She wishes that she could think of someone, but she is so emotionless even when she got dumped. Emotionless is more heartless than heartless. She should just eat hydrogen to start to float away. The song I chose for today is “童話” by Michael Wong (光良). Michael was once partnered with Victor Wong (品冠) to form the group 無印良品 (meaning: No brand, good product). The duo did make a name for themselves as a group and was quite popular, but they decided to split up in 2000. This song was from year 2005 and it was a big hit. The direct English translation of the title is “Fairy tale”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that he has forgotten how long it was since he last heard her telling him about the love story that she likes the most. He think for a while and started to get worry as he wonder whether he did something wrong. She was crying when she told him that everything in fairy tales is a lie and that he can’t be her prince. Perhaps she doesn’t understand ever since she told him that she loves him, his sky is full of stars. He is willing to become the angel that opens his wings from the fairy tale. Open his arm and transformed to wings to protect her. She needs to believe that they will be like in the fairy tales, all with a happy ending. They will write their ending together.

The song that I chose for today is “獨活” by Ken Hung. This is a new song from this year. The direct English translation of the title is “Live alone”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that please don’t let him know about who his girlfriend was hugging when he was left alone by her. Slowly trust is losing, but the image of her being touched couldn’t be wiped. “Why can’t he be selfish and let her remove all her loyalty”, she asked, so he got no choice but to pretend to accept. There will always be someone that is son generous. She and the other guy is ahead of him, so he follow but scare to expose himself. Who is willing to expose this relationship? And tell the public about his obsession with her. He will not ask about who she was kissing. He can put his self-esteem down. He is still worry about her safety, worry about the time when she is making love with the other guy. He can lower his standard, and decommission themselves to find happiness. If he can hurt her, when someone asked why they haven’t seen the two of them being together anymore, should he quickly answer that because she fallen in love with another guy? He still haven’t confirm about the situation, so he reminded himself, he still haven’t seen her with the other guy, haven’t seen her dirty back. If it get dirty, we can wash it off, no need to worry. The song that I chose for today is “任何天氣” by Cecilia Cheung. This was a song from her first album. While Cecilia can’t quite sing, I like the melody of the song. The direct English translation of the title is “Any weather”.

The lyrics of the song area bout love. The protagonist told her the boy that she is interested in that he should not worry about how the world sees him because in her eyes he is prefect. His lover always wanted to avoid him, and from his eyes, she understands his feelings. She understands that one day the world would be proud of him. She hope that he will believe in her as she is known to be rational. No one will stand in the same spot for the entire life, so if you want to reach high, then you should not give up. She will devote her life to love him, regardless of the weather. If being together change the sunny day to rainy day, then she will be both a lover and a best friend. The song that I chose for today is “借你耳朵說愛你” by Andy Hui. The direct English translation of the title is “Borrow your ears to say love you”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that to perhaps it is impossible to have world peace. Perhaps solving each difficult problem is wrong. All he wanted is her to promise him that when she is lost and wanted to ask someone, she will ask him. He just wants to love her regardless of where they go. Between a couple, what is the reason that will make them love each other to dead. Who would know why it require courage to become a couple. All he dreamed of everyday is that he could borrow her ears to listen to him saying to her “I love you”; always short and not too fast to say “I love you”. Perhaps buying a luxurious cruiser is a waste. Perhaps predicting what will happen next year is useless. The song that I chose for today is “Good to be a girl” by Man Ting Chan. Man Ting only produced a single a few years. I think she sing very well; definitely got the potential to be a big star, but it seems that she is not too active in making music anymore.

Despite the title is in English, it is actually a Cantonese song. The lyrics of the song are about a girl expressing her happiness when she is in love. At the start the protagonist said when she got hug by him, she felt that her world was about to melt. When he hug her, she felt that her whole body is happy. How did he make her cute, and how did he make her relax. How did he cover her weakness, miraculous, miraculous. She is happy to be a girl. Living until now, she found that it is very meaningful. A clash of tough and tender, he wouldn’t hurt her if she give him all her love. She is glad to be a girl. It is not relaxing to be alone, and she knows that she will be taken care of. Simple child, if there are no tender, she can give out more. When he hug her, what status it gets to? It felt like it is a state with no worries. It is like hugging happiness, the more she love, the faster time passes by. How did he make her more generous, how did he change her personality. The song that I chose for today is “悲哀的催眠曲” by Luisa Lai (黎芷珊). Many know Luisa as a TV host, but little remembers that she once sings. From memory, she never had her own album even though her songs are mostly solo. This is a song from 1984, I heard this song because I collect Priscilla Chan’s albums, and one of Priscilla’s earlier albums was a combined album with Luisa and Monica Chan. The direct English translation of the title is “Sad lullaby”.

This song is about love. The lyrics of the song begin with the protagonist saying that her heart is full of tears. Sadness and infatuation no longer exist. Dream, after waking up it disappeared, all she hope for is that they could be together again. How much infatuation, how much love? How much happiness, could it return? How much emptiness, how much pain. How much sadness, how much love. Dream, as they no longer laughter together, so there is no need of it. Heat, but the love no longer exist. The song that I chose for today is “啜泣” by Joey Yung. The direct English translation of the title is “Sob”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist at the start said that no one understand what she want. She just wanted to sleep. No one expected that she would join the party. She wishes that this guy would accompany her; even though they might not look like perfect match, but she think that it would at least be fun. She asked him who he likes when he was happy, but he asks back whether she means his partner. If it is that type, she knows that she will be too tired, then she bike her lips and hold her tears. If she asked herself harder, she think that all she want is to get a kiss from him. Then he will admit that she is the successor of his ex-girlfriend. Even if she classified him as not a good person, she will at least get a scare. But she only thought about it, never asked. This bad man never had been truthful to any girls. No one could proof that she loved him, so even if she got depression from this, she think that it is still worth it. After turning off the light, she will think of him, but she only got the strength to sob. No matter how truthful she is to him, she can’t make him more truthful to her. Since them both haven’t disappeared yet, then she prefer not to expose this secret, even until the end of the world. Really, she wanted to hide around him; she wanted to gamble her life.
