The
song that I chose for today is “牆外之音” by Lillian Wong. This song was
released early this year. The direct English translation of the title is “The
sound outside the wall”.
The
lyrics of the song are about searching for the purpose of your life. The protagonist
said that she is getting close to eighteen, but she had never decided what she
really wanted to do. She had been told that she has to work hard because she needs
to think about the consequences. There is a voice in her head; she felt that as
if it is trying to run away, there are no points to stay here to do nothing.
Run away, her soul wanting to do something. Trapped inside a book, why couldn’t
she hear the beats in her heart? ‘That’s the invisible wall blocking me from my
call’. Memories bring back an inch thick of iron oxide. How could she let go of
what she likes the most in her childhood. Take a deep breath then she opened
the standard book, but inside, there are no answers. Thinking back at the time
when she was eight, she saw that there are lot of role in the world. But why
she can’t maintain her thought when she was twenty five? Breaking the iron wall
to search for the answer, ‘where is my own call’? Then she realised what they
worry the most. Then she realised that she had been through so many pain here. Trapped
inside a book, why couldn’t she hear the beats in her heart? ‘That’s the

listen to her call. Slowly, she can see that there are hidden sign everywhere.
Trapped fighting in a stair way, calculating how to get rich in this life. ‘Break
down that visible wall blocking me from my call’. Trapped inside her thought to
fight, why not guided by her feeling? Explore this world, responds to your
call. This choice has nothing to do with other, as she will only follow her
feeling from now on. We all bourn with light and we all got our calls, let her accompany
