29th Oct 2014 (滄海遺珠 – Kay Tse and Wilfred Lau)

The song for today is “滄海遺珠” by Kay Tse and Wilfred Lau. This song is a reader request. The title is a bit hard to translate as it is a Chinese four worded phrase, meaning something valuable have been unnoticed in a sea of other common things. Directly through the words, it means “a forgotten peal in the sea”. The English translation from google translate, “talent left unrecognized”, seems to describe it quite ok, though it doesn’t necessary need to be talent.

The lyrics of the song are about love. Since it is a duet, Wilfred’s part would be represent by “W:”, Kay’s by “K:” and when they sing together “T:”. W: Everyone loves gems and wealth, so they don’t really understand your beauty. K: I am the only one, that saw you and closed my heart, just like the legend of a closed shell. If everyone in the world oversight and never got to fully understand you. W: Let those stupid, normal people look down at you. T: Don’t let those people affect your believes. K: Just like a peal buried deep in the sea. K: Deep in the sea. K: So that no one understands your goods. W: Only I would be able to understand God’s idea. T: Found this shining peal in a pile of sand. W: others framed you as a normal, boring kid. K: Like a kid. W: But your thoughts, I don’t believe T: that they are meaningless. K: No one understand how to admire it, T: but God knows that everyone can. W: Perhaps this abnormal beauty K: Not many people know how to admire it. W: So that is why you have been so polite, to a point that you are too humble. K: Never hoped for love. If everyone in the world oversight and never got to fully understand you. W: Let those stupid, normal people forget about you. T: If others don’t like you, I will be waiting for you on this side. K: Who are you? Who are you? W: Do you have a place to shine? T: Others are too busy admiring their looks. W: So didn’t have time to care about your self-cultivation. T: Only I will stay behind and clap for you. W: Perhaps no one care about you. K: But T: I will. Hope you will like the song.
