The song that I chose for today is “一人有一個夢想” by Vivian Lai. This is one of Vivian’s most popular songs. The direct English translation of the title is “Every have a dream”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that if she was told some form of love will end up hurting her, thought she thinks that if she got some happiness from them, then why not give it a try. If she was told that there are some of her qualities that her boyfriend wouldn’t like, then she will believe that not everyone will think like her boyfriend does. She doesn’t know where it comes from, but she can smell some flower and this smell give her some imagination of the future. One person will have one dream. If two people fallen in love then they will slowly get lost in love. With three people, each of them will have their own kinds of love and will search for their own dream. If one person change heart, then it will hurt. But if two people agree then it doesn’t matter. For three people, the love will get bitter and you should stop asking for the truth. The protagonist wonders why every time when she start falling in love, he got nervous. Who is the person that got his heart pumping? Why every time when she got dump, he got relaxed. He shows his emotions on his face. She doesn’t know where it comes from, but she can smell some flower and this smell give her some imagination of the future. One person will have one dream. The song that I chose for today is “黎明不要来” by Sally Yip. This is a famous song from Sally and it was a theme song of a famous ghost/love movie. The direct English translation of the title is “Dawn, please don’t come”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist hope that dawn will not arrive so that her dream could live on. She hopes that her heart could be followed her love, and order the soul of her love one to collect them. Could you please ask Dawn not to come again, so that the romance could live on. The touching feeling from the wind could come to her in the cold rain. Slowly to break through the barrier. She tries to stop the sun to break them up and hope that they could stay together over the night. Please order dawn not to show himself again, so that the romance could never be replaced. The song that I chose for today is “少女的祈禱” by Miriam Yeung. This is one of my favourites, I remember I bought the album because of this song. The direct English translation of the title is “The maiden’s prayer”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist is the maiden and it is her love story. She said that she meets him on a bus and she felt love at first sight. She said that she will not let go of him no matter how crowded the bus get. She prays that there wouldn’t be any troubles along the way to turn this happy journey to sad. They got pass two green light in a row, and so she can love him for a few more miles. When the light turn red, then she will have to leave. Let luck determine her ending. She pray that people could leave them alone, so that what she scare of will never happen. She never has anything good goes her way, then how could she pick back up her self-esteem. She pray that God could grand a kiss to her from him like how God forgive sinner. She love God and at the same time she love a human. So she prays that he wouldn’t change his heart, and pray for protection. Because of him, she learned how to pray, but why would God take care of these type of follower? She uses her hand to cover eyes when she prays, so that she wouldn’t see the answer. She prays that she can reach the future with him, even when the bus got destroy. No matter how hurt it get, she wishes that she could decide whether she wanted to keep loving or not. Because of him, she learned how to pray, but why would God take care of these type of follower? She loves him so much, but she thinks so negatively and she starts praying and begging to the green light. But God didn’t understand her kindness, when she opens her eyes there are no light to point her to the right direction. She love God, but why let her love one left her and got off the bus? The song that I chose for today is “種子” Jacky Cheung and 符潤光. This was a song from Jacky’s famous drama “雪狼湖”. Just a note, 符潤光 is one of the casts (sorry I can’t any more info on him from the internet). This song is one of my favourite from the雪狼湖’s sound track. The direct English translation of the title is “Seed”.

The lyrics of the song are about how we should see love. At the beginning, the old gardener told the young gardener that when love start to birth, it is the time that is most powerful. We need to relit the fire in our heart so that we can take on the difficulties in this world. During our life time, we will miss opportunities many times. But we can still search for the truth and try to understand the beauty of this. So pickup your self-confident even if the road ahead changes unexpectedly. Find yourself and when you look up you will be a man again, there is never too late. So carry all the different warms and turn them into a seed of love. Let love growth and let it fill our world. So no matter who got pain from love, every cheering that they get would feel truthful. No matter whether you love stay with you to the end you should still keep this in mind. In the endless road of love, no one will know the ending, so she might still say yes. The young gardener understand now and he realised love is a gift from god. The lyrics of the song are about not giving up. The protagonist said that today in the cold night, he saw a snowflake flow across. The snowflake carries the cold heart to a distance place. The song that I chose for today is “愛不起” by Dave Wong. This song was a theme song for a movie. While I hate the movie, I quite like its theme song. The direct English translation of the title is “Can’t afford to love”.

The lyrics of the song are of cause about love. The protagonist said that his special someone could guess all the things that he couldn’t say out loud. This make him realised that he can openly speak out what he wanted. She stared at him from the side, this make him to have feeling towards her, make his heart beats and make him lost control. There are things that he wanted to say to her but not dare. He is scare of being in this situation where he is stuck in the middle. That time he bumped into her on the street, he make a fool of himself, he lost control and he got disappointed. No matter where he hides, he still thinks of her. The world is big and wide, but no matter how bad it is, he will cross the border. Wow, there is no way he could love her. She perhaps will pity him. He loves her, but he can’t afford to love. Wow, he knows that he will never be able to give her the perfection that she is after. The more she is attracted to him, he knows that the fame and wealth that she might be after is harder to get, this make him can’t afford to love her. Hope you will like the song.

The song that I chose for today is “逃避你” by Joey Yung. This was the first few songs that make Joey popular. The direct English translation of the title is “Avoiding you”.

The song is about love. The lyrics start with the protagonist saying that one of the longest distance is that you know you love someone but you don’t know how to express you love. By thinking, it will just make you colder. She wanted her special someone to agree with her, but she doesn’t know how to do it. One of the longest distances in the world is that you know you love someone but you are not daring to hug him. By waiting, you kill your feeling. She couldn’t see the true face of love, so she is not dare to tough it. Avoiding him, but at the same time she wishes that they could become a couple. Her heart will be toward him regardless. Avoiding him, love is so far away and she is not dare to get closer. She still believes that she can’t be together with him. One of the longest distances is knowing that you still love someone, but you know you couldn’t keep it. Memories, it gets heavier in your heart. But she doesn’t treasure they meet up, is like she lost control of her thought. If she never started with him, then they would never end. Who cares, as the love will stay in her heart and will never stop. Avoiding him, but at the same time she wishes that they could become a couple. Her heart will be toward him regardless. 21st Feb 2014 (大開眼戒 (A.K.A. 打回原形) – Eason Chan)

The song for today is “大開眼戒” (A.K.A. “打回原形”) by Eason Chan. This was requested by a reader of this blog. I like this song, and I thought I had talked about it already until yesterday when I tried to search for it. This song is very interesting as it got two names. It was said that the song was originally called “打回原形” (in English it means “Back to the original form”), but as it was a song for a skin care product promotion campaign, this name is not suitable (as no one want a product that bring you back to where you started). So they change the name to “大開眼戒” (meaning “Eyes wide open” in English directly, but it means to broaden you view. I guess the skin care product is an eye cream?). This name “大開眼戒” was used when the song first come out. But later on, the lyrics writer of the song, Wyman Wong (a very famous lyrics writer in Hong Kong) thinks that the original name “打回原形” better suit the song, as a sign of respect for the lyrics writer I guess, the song now uses the original name “打回原形”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist think that he is not good enough to fall in love with a girl, and he thinks that if he shows his true self, she will be scare and walk away. It begins with the protagonist asking whether he could leave the light off and kiss with the girl in the dark. He wonders would she still hug him if he shows his true self. He is worry to break the sense of environment and no one knows how dark his heart is. If his true self is so low grade, how could he matches with her. If lover is curious, she would need to be prepared that he might frighten her. But who could be so clean in this world. How could she bear this curiosity, the answer is razor sharp. So he wishes that when they are open to each other, he wouldn’t hurt her. When she is not sure, perhaps she shouldn’t have walked too close. So if he happened to show her all the spots (I guess in the context, it means scars) on his body she could turn around. He was born this way, if they could change is DNA, take it apart and put it back together, he is willing to do so. Regardless of what happen to him as long as she is happy. If lover is curious, she would need to be prepared that he might frighten her. But who could be so clean in this world. How could she bear this curiosity, the answer is razor sharp. But you know, who doesn’t have their little secretes. How many hands and legs would it require for her to fall in love with him without any problems? If she loves him, then don’t trouble him, a few pairs of ears, and just go tango with him (personally I don’t quite get the meaning of this last sentence. I guess broadly it means that if she likes him then just ignore everything else and let him take care of it). How to bear this curiosity? Is she prepared to fall in love with him? The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist questions why a lady would sacrifice herself. HE also wonder what a man could do wrong could hurt her that much. He run around just wanted to find the truth feeling; the impossible truth and the impossible kiss with an impossible person. Keeping her kiss, as she is his lady. Keeping her in memory, he wanted to use a different method to ask her to be his lady. Since she can’t spend her life with him, then he asked her not to waste her youth. Oh baby, he just wants her to remember for life that minute that they spent together. A lady loveable likes her, how could he not be hurt. Why they meet but can’t be together, why dreams can’t turn true. Why their hearts just bump into each other. There is no one in the world would let the person that they love to another person to kiss. Men can’t tell who is the right person he could spend the rest of his life with, and this hurt ladies. It’s fate that they can’t be together. What she got is a scar, which is enough for him to remember for life. The song that I chose for today is “只要我們還有心” by Janice Vidal. The direct English translation of the title is “If we still want it”.

The lyrics of the song area bout love. The protagonist said that her boyfriend is losing feeling toward her just like the way she is trying to withstand him. They rather be alone. Who said that forgiving is easier than love, who didn’t heard that it is harder to love as loves go on. The reality is that everyone has tried to avoid love. We can make mistake anytime and everywhere remind us of these mistake. It is good that we still haven’t get to a point of no return. If we wanted to blame something, then just blame that we got what we want too easily. We can’t just give up to compensate on what we lost, we should try to avoid saying mean things too early on. As long as we still want it, there would be a light to guide us even when we had been disappointed. If the light was blow off, then why not just fall to sleep as we will have a clearer mind and love will feel more real when we got a clear mind. After we breakup, we still got hands, so we can start again. So forget the reason why we argue, just remember that when we hug we still got feeling toward each other. If it is so easy to let go, then it would be very difficult to stay behind. But we wouldn’t believe that forgetting is easier. Is it because they see each other too much that he just wanted to think of her but not see her? Why we are worry to make mistakes, but afterward we treasure each other more. There are many couples that argue, so why just focus on the one in front. We might have let go of your hand, but afterward, we can start again. The lyrics of the song are about love, thought it should be noted that Juno songs are more abstract, so they are generally hard to understand directly. The protagonist said that he doesn’t want to lie, and there is no need for haven. He wanted her to learn more about hope and think more about their beginning. The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist think that he is not good enough for his other half and he is worry that she will realised that one day. They wanted to be together for the rest of their life, but he is worry that one day she will found out that he is not what she thinks he is. He is worry that he is not treating her good enough. The song that I chose for today is “失戀哲理” by Jade Kwan. This song is around 1-2 years old. The direct English translation of the title is “Philosophy of breaking up”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist thinking about how to let go of her relationship with her last boyfriend. It ask are you still thinking of your ex? And still cry like rain. Through the break up you have hurt yourself and lost all your self-confident. You feel that you don’t have the strength to love another person and swear that you will be alone. But sadly you bump into him in a restaurant, and it still hurt. Perhaps you fallen in love with a fake future. He should love your dictatorship. Perhaps you can’t stand that he lie to you, but if you can cope with an extra person in this relationship, does that means you relationship will last forever? Breaking up hurt you deeply, you cried like you are about to suffocate and your heart is about to stop beating. But no one will pitty you for this, so please just make yourself stronger. Breaking up to the end and breaking until dead is common sense, it is just like all classic movies have bad ending. Fallen in love in this era is like you have been cursed. Today you might love like you are in honeymoon, but tomorrow you will experience a third person coming into your relationship. It is like running in circle, to learn about sadness and self-entertainment. You scare bleed because you let it happened, so there is no need to break down now. Breaking up, it had once asked you to commit suicide, and this feeling have imprinted into your heart. You felt that you lost your soul, then why not let yourself take a holiday and found someone that you can trust and talk to. You love him so much and it hurt so much. This type of ending doesn’t make sense. It is like if I want you then I must first let you go. Hope you will like the song.
