19th Jan 2015 (耿耿於懷 – Juno Mak)

The song for today is “耿耿於懷” by Juno Mak. Many people hated Juno because there was news reporting that he buys fans (as in paying for them to wait for him after shows and chase after his car). He comes from a rich family, so everything seems possible. From memory, it was later reported that those fans were paid by his father, as he wanted his son to be popular. The sad thing is that it created the complete opposite. Since that news, no one really carried about Juno’s music, they just focus on his news. Personally, I quite like his songs, many of these songs deserves to be popular, but never happened due to that news. After the music company that was in shut down (which was called “Silly Thing”, owned by Juno’s older brother), he now focused in being a director. His latest movie “Rigor Mortis” (殭屍) was well received. Back to the song, the title is hard to translate to English, the closest translation is “Dwelling on”.

The lyrics of the song are about the protagonist can’t seems to let this girl out of his heart. He asked whether she is still well, still like to read girl comic? She hasn’t shown her face for a while, perhaps she found her new special someone? He wanted to bring her to see his new girlfriend and listen to her comments on his girlfriend, but perhaps this sounds like a disease. Why that no matter what he tired, he can’t love his girlfriend the same way he loves her. Perhaps it is because he hasn’t practise for too long that that he can’t chase his feeling back. Tried hard to love, but it just feel abnormal. He doesn’t know how to be in love, or perhaps he loves her too deeply that he doesn’t know how to let go? Perhaps it is because he had been lonely for so long that the pad lock have been rusted and couldn’t open anymore. The key is also broken, leaving all the old memories and his loves locked in his heart. So it is not surprising that he couldn’t fall in love again. He sometime worry to walk pass her house. When the things from the past haven’t ended, would it hurt if it emerged again? He wanted to bring her to see his new girlfriend and listen to her comments on his girlfriend, but perhaps this sounds like a disease. Why that no matter what he tired, he couldn’t make himself to loves his girlfriend. Perhaps it is because he hasn’t practise for too long that that he can’t chase his feeling back. Tried hard to love, but it just feel abnormal. He dwelled on his previous love, never been able to get up, so he deserved to get hurt again. Perhaps it is because he had been lonely for so long that the pad lock have been rusted and couldn’t open anymore. His past is like a broken arrow that is left in his body. If his heart is still full of love towards her, he is worry that he will never be able to fall in love again. Hope you will like the song.
