As mentioned yesterday, the song for today is “後悔” by Hacken Lee. This is the other Cantonese cover version of Sun Nan’s “留什麽給你”. Both Sammi’s and Hacken’s were released in 1994, so I have no idea which one was released first. The English translation of the title of Hacken’s version is “Regret”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that he could fall to sleep and he is gazing at the rain outside his window. The silk like rain carried a bit of sadness, like layers of massy curtain. If love is a crime, then punishment is loneliness? A moment of happiness, a life of heartbreak, romance is all gone. Never give up on expressing his love to her to hope that love will last forever. Begging her sadly to keep loving. But everything felt that as if they are all gone and that he couldn’t chase them back. Perhaps she could never understand, never guess it correctly who is the one that love her the most. Making him cry unnoticed, quietly waiting for her; who is the one that stole his heart? No matter how many more times, how many more years that he has to be crazy about her, he still want this love to keep going. He regret that he conquered hearts with her in the past.
