The song for today is “苦戀” by Sammi Cheng. This song was released in 1994, the direct English translation of the title is “bitter love”. This song is a Cantonese cover version of “留什麼給你” by Sun Nan (孫楠), another Cantonese cover version is “後悔” by Hacken Lee (I will probably talk about this one tomorrow).

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that she couldn’t sleep as the memories from the past is accompanying her lonely shadow. The pain from today, the sadness in the star light, how could she be keep going? The misunderstanding from that time, left behind many tears. Her heart is so painful, in the dark she tried to speak up, she is sick of this loneliness. So she couldn’t forget about it in her life. At night the memories circulated around her head many time and give her so much pain. But his face, the laughter and sadness, always came up in her head at night. Once said, he was her hope in her life, she wouldn’t care if it bring her bitterness, they will never be apart and she will always loves him. Even if they have to be separated, they only got one moment to hug, she just want to get through to the end.
