The song that I chose today is “無名份的浪漫” by Leon Lai. This song is quite old, I think it came out in the early 90’s. Like I have mentioned in earlier posts, Leon was very famous back then, so this song was quite popular as well. The direct English translation of the title is “Romance without title”. The melody of the song keeps coming up in my head this morning, so I think I should talk about this song.

By looking at the translated title, you probably don’t have a clue what this song is about. The lyrics of this song are about the romance the protagonist felt when he broke up with his girlfriend. What this song is saying is that the protagonist’s girlfriend felt that many things have gone wrong in their relationship and so she finally decided to break up with the protagonist. At the moment when they broke up, the protagonist felt that his girlfriend is looking at him in a way that he felt she is more like his girlfriend than she was. He enjoyed this moment, wishing that time can slow down so that this moment could last longer. He question why this romance came so late and why it happened at the wrong time. So the title, “Romance without title” means that this feeling that he felt doesn’t lead the relationship to another stage, there are no good ending to it. Hope you will enjoy this song.
