The
song for today is “失去夢的少女” by Sally Yip. This is another
Chinese cover version of Mayumi Itsuwa’s (五輪真弓) “恋人よ”,
though this time around it is the Mandarin cover version. This song came out in
1981, around the same time as the other cover version. The direct English translation
of the title is “The girl who lost her dreams”.
The lyrics
of the song are about love. The
protagonist said that just like every young girl, she sung love songs when she
was lonely. Even though back then she didn’t know who it was for, but he appeared
in front of her. Perhaps he wasn’t intended, but she took it as real, she even keeps
their memories as treasure. Even though the memories are great, but she is the
type of person that is not daring to think back, because a dream that had
passed away have got no way to search it back. A girl that lost her dreams is
as helpless as a bird that left it nest. Dreaming to be able to write the next
love story, but she still hasn’t manage to found the ending of the story. Hope
