26th Aug 2014 (綿綿 – Eason Chan)

The song for today is “綿綿” by Eason Chan. This is requested by a reader, and it is also one of the songs that I often listen. I didn’t like this song when I first it many many years ago, back then I enjoyed songs with fast tempo. But slowly as I grow up, I enjoyed the slow tempo more, nowadays I much prefer slow tempo then fast tempo. So around 6-7 years ago, when I heard this song again, I just fall in love with it. Eason express the sorrow of the song with a minimal climax, which I think is something that is very hard to do, but he did it very well. Anyway, back to the title, the direct English translation of the title is “Soft soft”.

The lyrics of the song are about love. The protagonist said that he will probably never going to hug her again. Perhaps her body weight will bring him to dream. In the past, as he didn’t want to not show up at their date, he will try his best even if he was sick. Until which day would he think back and realised that it was stupid? Perhaps they will not spend their night together. Sit until the coffee turn sour, and became so hard to drink. In the past, he was willing to scarify his own time for her, even not resting. They talked about the time when it rained so heavily that water leak through her windows. He never loved her softly, but sadly that he likes to think about the past, especially the album that make him felt sad. He never loved her, but always willing to give to anyone. He never paid the attention to count how many hairs broke off in his sleep on a rainy summer day. Perhaps they will not hug again. Wait until they both get old, they toke a slow walk. The past just felt like a feather. Talked about the pain deep in their heart, it is like talking to himself about the faults other made, how nice. He never loved her, he just likes to fight bloodily with a heart and the like to think of that cigarette that he never managed to finish. He never loved her, he just enjoy meeting a celebrity. He never paid the attention to count how many hairs broke off in his sleep on a rainy summer day. Hope you will like the song.
