The
song for today is “樓梯轉角” by Fiona Sit. This song was
released in 2007, the direct English translation of the title is “Just around
the corner of the stair”.
The
lyrics of the song are about the protagonist realising the change of the
relationship between herself and her boyfriend. It said, she is just around the
corner, if he called, she would just turn around. But why keep waiting, as no
one would beg her not to leave. The corner around the stair is always hers. It
is the resting place for her after they argued. Always, she walked slower for
him, hoping that in ten seconds he will come and save her. She cries on the
stair. When they were still deeply in love, he would chase after her and carry
her back. He would also apologise, but now she couldn’t see any sign of him. She
got more and more down. Being a couple for a few years, yet the feeling could
still die out days after days. She knows that she lack self-confident, also don’t
like to listen to others and annoying. Always practices for the fake break up
(I think here it is trying to say that the protagonist always uses break up to
threaten her boyfriend), no wonder she never got a pass. Around the corner of
the stair, she is still trying to hold up, worrying that one day he will
finally open his eyes and understand that it is not worth it to go her way so
easily as she is still so annoying. She cries
on the stair. The longer they were in love, the more she feels that the relationship
between them is thin. Love each other, but don’t want to be together. She is relief,
as she knows who she could rely on for the rest of her life. If her partner
doesn’t chase her back, then it is time to make the decision. Leave, as her
heart is hurt already and it couldn’t return. She and him are a pair, or
